October News
TB mare ‘Appealing Eagle’ gave me a lovely
surprise when arriving home late from a
committee meeting, upon checking to see if she
had settled into the foaling yard, I discovered
she had in fact foaled! I got exactly what I
wanted, a beautiful Chestnut filly sire is Welsh
B, Salient Master Bronze.

This month we welcomed another new
addition to Brynmor, Welsh Section A
Mare ‘Glynyarra Park Demelza’
(Weston Mistletoe x Trently Dilys)
I have admired this mare for quite
some time, so when the opportunity
came to buy her I couldn’t resist.

We had a bit of a
setback this month with Daniel breaking his arm
badly after falling off (of all things) a cat
scratching pole! He had been progressing with his
riding lately, finally mastering
Rising trot – unfortunately now he’s out of
the saddle until October.
A broken arm hasn’t
slowed him down though, he feeds and cleans
Harmony’s yard every night, mastering the pooper
scooper one handed! He’s more upset that he’s not
allowed to ride.

Brynmor
Lucille left for her new home this month. She made
the long trip over to WA to new owner Luke Dawes.
Luke plans on starting her under saddle and showing
her at Perth Royal and WA HOTY. We wish Luke every
success with her.

We have a new addition
to our Show Team, the striking gelding,
Seawynd Hallmark (Seawynd
Red Flyer x Barnon Heirs
Cheers). Soon after being weaned, Hamish attended
his first show, the SA Welsh and Riding Pony Foal
Show on the 3rd May where he placed 1st
in both his classes. Thank you to Lana Crompton
from Seawynd Stud for
allowing me to purchase Hamish. He’s an
entertaining young man, and we’re having a lot of
fun with him.

A last minute decision
was made to take young Daniel (3yrs) and the 20yr
old Shetland pony ‘Woodview Harmony’ (on loan from
Wynara Stud) to compete
in the Tiny Tots classes at Macclesfield Show.
Harmony decided she
wasn’t a show pony any more and when we opened the
stable door in the morning we were rather amused to
find her standing there with every square inch of
her covered in sawdust, she had it up inside her
rugs and even in her ears! It took some brushing
to finally get her clean again.
Daniel and Harmony had
a successful day placing 2nd in Led
Handler under 4yrs, 2nd in Rider under
4yrs and 4th in Monte Carlo. Daniel
wasn’t too keen on getting up early, so took the
opportunity to have a sleep in the car on the way
home. There was no way he was letting go of his
ribbons!

Lucille did well
placing 3rd in all her Part Welsh and
Riding Pony Classes, and Wynara
Showoff won both his
Gelding classes in Rings 1 and 2 and was awarded
Champion Gelding in one ring and Reserve Champion
Gelding in the other. |
